A Rome man remained in jail late Friday on charges of possession of metham-phetamine, battery and obstruction of law enforcement officers after an incident that police said occurred Thursday night at Armuchee Park on Jones Mill Road.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Thomas Richard Difrischia, 38, of 25 Bowling Court, struck a person, causing a black eye.

When officers tried to arrest him, he resisted. Difrischia had ingested meth-amphetamine, police said.

He also has a felony warrant for his arrest from Texas. The report did not list the charge.
