According to a RFPRA release:
Lock and Dam Park is a 73 acre park on the National Registry of Historical Landmarks. Located off Blacks Bluff Road, the park offers visitors 31 scenic RV ready campsites with picnic shelters, a large picnic shelter, the Coosa River Trading Post (a convenience fishing and camping supply store), an exhibition center, river fishing and boat access ramp. Other amenities include: horseshoe pits, various picnic shelters, playground, restrooms, shower and laundry facility, nature trails, an observation overlook, and volleyball court.
The park also has a primitive group tent camping area, with shelters, fire rings and restroom facilities popular for group gatherings and outdoor educational opportunities.
The 127 acre Coosa Nature Preserve adjoins the property, and the Nature Center hosts a family hosts a family of educational displays.
