LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Gwinnett County deputies say a woman who left her infant and 2-year-old in a car while she paid a traffic ticket is charged with reckless conduct.

Sheriff's officers say 25-year-old Elizabeth Bell was arrested Thursday after a Department of Family and Children's Services worker reported finding two small children left alone in a car outside a county court building.

Officers say Bell told a deputy her children were sleeping and she didn't want to wake them.

Officers say a deputy found that the car's engine was off and that one window was rolled down about 2 inches.

Jail records show Bell's bond has been set at $2,400.
