A Lindale man was arrested Tuesday after deputies say he fought with officers who were executing a warrant and damaged a house during the altercation.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Nickolas Kyle Townsend, 19, of 756 Park Ave., was arrested by Floyd County deputies around 4:30 p.m. He was charged with two felony counts of obstruction of law enforcement, felony criminal damage to property and simple battery on a police officer.

Deputies went to a residence on Blackberry Lane to serve a warrant, and when officers found Townsend hiding in the attic, he refused to follow commands to come down. Records stated that he fought with officers in the attic area and caused damage to the residence during the altercation. Deputies finally subdued Townsend with a Taser and were able to take him into custody.

He remains in jail without bail due to a probation violation.
