Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Chupp Jr. of Rome announce the engagement of their daughter Mary Elizabeth Chupp to Brandon Lee Johns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Johns of Guntersville, Ala.

Miss Chupp is a 2004 graduate of Rome High School and plans to graduate in May from Berry College with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.



The bride-elect is the sister of Hannah Chupp of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Rochester of Shannon and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chupp Sr. of Guntersville, Ala.

Johns is a 1999 graduate of Guntersville High School, a 2003 graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in social work and plans to graduate in May from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He is employed at Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsboro, Ala.

The groom-elect is the brother of Michele Johns of Tuscaloosa, Ala. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Mowery and Thelma Johns, all of Talladega, Ala. and the late Carmen Johns.



A ceremony is planned for Saturday, May 24, 2008, at Frost Chapel in Rome. A reception will follow at Ford Dining Hall
