Developer Ira Levy has withdrawn for now his proposal to add two stories of condominiums atop a planned six-story addition to Hawthorn Suites.

Levy said Wednesday, “We don’t know how (construction of ) the parking deck is going to affect us,” referring to a 380-space deck to be built between the West Second Avenue hotel and The Forum. “They say the traffic will still flow right through there, but I’m not sure.”

The hotel addition will also be between the existing hotel and The Forum.

Because there are time limits for construction to start once a project is approved, Levy said he would wait and re-file his plan with the Rome-Floyd Planning Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission later.

The addition to Hawthorn Suites will be built between the hotel and The Forum
