Museum to host 'Prairie Christmas | Region New

The Booth Western Art Museum will host "A Booth Prairie Christmas: Children's Saturday and Holiday Open House" from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Booth Museum located in downtown Cartersville. Admission for children 12 and under is $1 to cover materials.

Children can visit with Cowboy Santa, make holiday ornaments and much more. Children's book author and storyteller Melanie Chrismer also will be in the Booth theater at 11 a.m. presenting her book "Phoebe Clapsaddle has a Tumbleweed Christmas." Guests will be able to purchase Chrismer's books in the museum store and she will be signing autographs from 10-11 a.m.

At 1 p.m., author Holly George-Warren will be in the museum store signing copies of her book "Public Cowboy No. 1: The Life and Times of Gene Autry." The book traces Autry's life from small town boy to multimillionaire.
