Retired businessman Tom Saltino qualified today to run for a Ward 3 Rome City Commission seat.

Saltino, 69, was a contender in the Floyd County Commission race last year.

Ward 3 covers the area of the city west of the Oostanaula and Coosa rivers.

Two of the three incumbents — Kim Canada and Bill Collins are seeking re-election. Ronnie Wallace is not running for a new term.

Richard Ingram and Jim Greer have also qualified for the Nov. 6 election. The top three vote-getters will win the seats.
