Three of the people injured Wednesday morning in two serious wrecks in Floyd County remained in area hospitals Thursday.

Timie Michelle Strickland, 43, of 54 Surrey Trail, was listed in fair condition at Erlanger Medical Center, a hospital spokeswomen said.

Strickland was injured after being ejected from and trapped under her overturned vehicle following a two-vehicle crash on Redmond Road shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday.

In an unrelated wreck, Phyllis Dowdy, age unavailable, and Donald Dowdy, 70, both of Cedartown, also remained in a room at Floyd Medical Center on Thursday afternoon, a hospital spokeswoman said.

They were injured just before 9 a.m. Wednesday when their car struck another vehicle that had slid into the northbound lanes on U.S. 27 near Georgia Highlands College.
