Members of the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce will reiterate their agenda to Rome’s state legislative delegates this week, with a trip to the state Capitol.

About 40 chamber members are expected to the make the trip Tuesday, with plans to meet with the area’s state representatives and senator and share the chamber’s legislative wish list for 2007.

“It’ll be repetitious… just to remind them of the legislative agenda that we presented to them at the prelegislative breakfast in December,” said Sam Freeman, the chamber’s director of business and industry services. “It’s also a chance to go down and show them how much we support them.”

Transportation and education issues are high on the chamber’s priority list, including full funding for various road projects and for Floyd County’s colleges and schools.

In addition to meeting with the legislators, chamber members will attend some House committee meetings to get a sense of how the legislative process works, Freeman said.
