Money for road construction and education plus business-friendly policies on workers compensation and immigration reform were among the priorities that Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce members shared today with Floyd County’s state legislators.

“Our agenda this year is based on common sense, getting our fair share of pork in the budget and sound science,” said Tom Watters, vice president of governmental affairs for the chamber’s board of directors.

A printed handout from the chamber also urged the county’s legislative delegation to aggressively promote economic development for Northwest Georgia, support protections for the region’s water resources and to “focus on solid science” when implementing air-quality and emissions rules.
