Lindale residents will be able to trash bulky household items for free at the Floyd County Public Works community cleanup Saturday.

Crews will be at the Midway Remote Site on Midway Park Road from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to collect debris that would normally have to be taken to the Walker Mountain Landfill.

This is an excellent opportunity to clean up your yards, porches or garages," Public Works Director Michael Skeen said.

This is the final community cleanup of the year. During the first three events, residents disposed of more than 100 tons of debris such as furniture, yard toys and scrap lumber.

Skeen said the service is being provided for residential use only.

IF YOU GO

When: Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Where: Midway Remote Site, Midway Park Road.

What: Residents may drop off household waste items
