Pitcher Kevin Gunderson, who helped Oregon State win this year's College World Series, will join the Rome Braves when the team opens a four-game road series on Thursday against the Kannapolis (N.C.) Intimidators.

Gunderson was instrumental in the Beavers' historic victory as 2006 college champions. The left-hander earned an NCAA and Oregon State University school record 20th save in the final 3-2 win over runner-up University of North Carolina.

Gunderson was the Braves 5th round selection.

Right-handed pitcher Jose Santiago has been placed on the disabled list. Santiago was 1-0 with a 4.65 ERA and two saves in 2006.

After the road trip, the Braves return home on Monday, July 24 to begin an eight-game home stand
