Jario Cuevas surrendered five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning Sunday afternoon, propelling the Augusta GreenJackets to a 6-1 victory at Lake Olmsted Stadium.
After splitting a Saturday doubleheader with the Braves, Augusta will try for the series victory tonight at 7:05 p.m. Rome has won all but one series in 2006, with a 2-2 split in Savannah also in the mix.
Kala Kaaihue scored Romes only run in the top of the sixth. He later had a double, as did Maximilliano Ramirez, who went 3-for-5.
The Braves downfall was a lack of timely hitting. Rome had 11 hits, but stranded 17 runners.
