Mary Louise Mitchell of Rome announces the engagement of her daughter Beatrice Luvenia Mitchell to Raynard Griffin, son of the late Betty Smith. The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late John Thomas Beasley.

Miss Mitchell is a graduate of East Rome High School and Coosa Valley Technical College where she was certified as a customer service specialist. She is employed by Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital and Just Kids Learning Center. She is a member of Thankful Baptist Church.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late John and Ida B. Ware.

Griffin is a graduate of East Rome High School. He is employed at Trinity Rail Group in Cartersville. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1984 to 1988. He is a member of Thankful Baptist Church.

The private ceremony is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, in Gatlinburg, Tenn. A reception will be held Aug. 12, 2006, at the Rome Senior Center. Family and friends are invited to attend. Invitations will be sent
