Calhoun’s Presley Nance has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Oglethorpe University.

Nance, who amassed 830 career points and 527 career rebounds, was a three-year starter at Calhoun. She averaged 11.2 points and 6.4 rebounds as a senior, and earned a spot on the Rome News-Tribune All-Area team.

She averaged 12.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a junior after averaging 8.6 points and 5.9 rebounds as a sophomore.

By attending Oglethorpe, Nance will be following her grandfather, Bob Nance, who played for Oglethorpe in the 1960s.

Nance is expected to make an immediate contribution to a team that will graduate seven seniors this spring. The team has gone 96-27 over the past four years with four consecutive appearances in the NCAA tourney, including a trip to the Final Four.
