Report: Stolen debit cards used for shopping spree

A Rome man is in jail this morning after police arrested him for using stolen debit cards to make purchases at a number of locations, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Tommy Michael Thornton, 22, of 29 Marvin Crowe Drive is charged with felony financial transaction card fraud, first-degree forgery, financial transaction card theft and theft by taking.

Thornton reportedly took debit cards without permission from the victim’s wallet and bought goods valued at $788.38 from a number of locations.

He remained in jail this morning.
