The featured act for the evening, Infinity Show Band, will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. The concert series is free.
The 19-member Pepperell ensemble consists of Pepperell High School students under the direction of Bob Steelnack. The students arrive at school at 7 a.m. to practice and give five to seven performances during the school year.
The band plays a wide variety of styles, from jazz to rock, from the last 50 years.
Atlanta-based Infinity Show Band is making its first appearance at First Friday. The group performs Motown, rhythm and blues and contemporary tunes.
Rome’s own The Beatless, a Beatles tribute band, will perform for the first time in three years on June 5. Other groups are Southern Thunder, with opening act Randy Howard, July 3; Ben Deignan & Suburban Soul Aug. 7; and Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station Sept. 4.
First Friday concerts are free. For $100, tents, tables and eight chairs are set up for groups. (Call the International Association at 706-295-0010.)
Concessions are provided by nonprofit groups. For the second year, the concerts will feature inflatables and a rock-climbing wall for children.
