A Rome man was arrested Wednesday on theft charges after police say he allegedly tried to sell stolen items at local pawn shops.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Michael Allen Dean, 45, of 1921 Fosters Mill Road, was arrested on warrants by Floyd County sheriff’s deputies around 5:30 p.m. He was charged with two felony counts of theft by receiving stolen property and two counts of theft by deception.

Floyd County police investigators alleged that late last month, Dean had in his possession some Bostitch air gun tools that he tried to pawn at two shops in Rome. Police say he knew or should have known them to be stolen.

He remains in jail without bail.
