The nearly springlike weather is over for Floyd County, according to the National Weather Service — at least for a little while.

The good news is that a long spell of gloomy days is not in the forecast. It will be sunny for much of the week, but it will also be cold.

Today’s high is expected to hit only in the lower to mid 40s, according to the NWS, but a north wind gusting as high as 15 mph will make it feel a lot colder. And tonight will be a good time to dress warmly, with a low predicted near 23 degrees.

The forecast through the weekend won’t be much different.

Below is the forecast from Wednesday through Monday from the NWS:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 47.

Wednesday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 53.

Thursday Night: A 30-percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43.

Friday: Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 53. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Friday night: A chance of rain and snow showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 43.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 24.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49.

Sunday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.

Monday: A 20-percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54.
