The Savannah Morning News reports that some of the rides could be shuffling to some new spots in the city's historic district as a result of a proposal now being considered.
After months of review and negotiating, the proposal is headed to the Savannah City Council on Thursday for approval.
The changes would take effect in mid-January, when current leases expire. The city notified the carriage companies earlier this year it would not renew their leases in City Market at Jefferson Street and West St. Julian Street.
Officials say city policies on the tours and the locations where they operate take into account such factors as traffic and safety concerns.
