A Calhoun man on his way home from his job at Floyd Medical Center was involved in a wreck with a Floyd Emergency Medical Services truck Wednesday night, according to Rome police.

According to Capt. Rodney Bailey:

William Cleve Corley, 42, of Calhoun, was riding his Harley Davidson north on Riverside Parkway at about 5:50 p.m. when the Ford F-350 Super Duty truck driven by Charles Thaxton pulled out in front of him at Riverside Industrial Park.

Corley hit the truck on the driver’s side just in front of the rear wheel well and bent the rear wheel toward the back of the truck.

First responders said Corley was conscious and responsive when they arrived.

He was taken to Floyd Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Bud Owens, director of emergency medical services at Floyd Medical Center, was on the scene and said he was planning to check on Corley at the hospital.

“We’re going to do what we can for him and his family,” Owens said.

Thaxton was cited with failure to yield.
