ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Gov. Nathan Deal is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who killed a 76-year-old Athens man in a late November burglary.

The Athens Banner-Herald reports Gov. Deal is offering $1,000 in the case. Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is also offering a reward depending on the quality of information provided.

On Nov. 26, authorities say two men burglarized 76-year-old Edward Davidson's home and shot him shortly after breaking through his front door.

Gov. Deal says he's offering the reward to help investigators generate solid leads in the case.
