The federal government sequester has resulted in the pending cancellation of USAF Thunderbirds shows Apr 1 – Sep. 30, 2013. Our Oct. 12-13 air show plans will continue with or without the Thunderbirds showcasing an outstanding performer lineup and attractions! We are optimistic that our politicians will solve the problem in time for the Thunderbirds to resume their full 2013 show schedule and perform in Rome.

Wings Over North Georgia officials learned today that the United States Air Force Thunderbirds will appear October 12th and 13th at the 2013 Wings Over North Georgia Air Show at Richard B. Russell Airport in Rome, GA. The event, produced by JLC Air Show Management, LLC, will also feature a phenomenal lineup of military demonstrations, civilian performers, unique ground displays and family-friendly attractions.

The announcements were made as part of the International Council of Air Shows’ (ICAS) annual convention held in Las Vegas. Additional performers and attractions will be added in the coming months with the full lineup in place by spring.

The USAF Thunderbirds are internationally-known for their hard-charging demonstration of precision formation flying while ushing their F-16 Fighting Falcons to the limit. This is the first time ever that the Thunderbirds will appear at Wings Over North Georgia. Known as “America’s Ambassadors in Blue”, the Thunderbirds have traveled throughout the world performing before millions of spectators. Their distinctive red, white and blue F-16 jets along with their precise routines make the Thunderbirds a must see at this year’s Wings Over North Georgia Air Show.

“The Thunderbirds put on one of the best shows in the business,” said John Cowman, president of JLC Air Show Management. “We want to give our fans an experience they won’t soon forget and the Thunderbirds are the best team to do just that.”

General Admission and premium seating upgrade tickets will be available for purchase early 2013 at www.WingsOverNorthGeorgia.com. Fans can register online now to receive information about ticket options and performer signings.
