The Main High School Class of 1966 met at Red Lobster recently for a reconnection gathering to celebrate 46 years. Thirty-one class members, along with guests, journeyed from various cities to attend the occasion.

On June 3, 1966, 103 students graduated. During the program, a candle was lighted and a poem was read in memory of 22 deceased class members.

“Reflections of our Past” was presented by Bishop Daniel Foster Jr.

Ethel Franklin Taylor, a former high school instructor, made a surprise entrance to greet everyone.

Pictures and other mementos from previous reunions were on display. The celebration adjourned with the class singing the Main High School Alma Mater.

The planning committee included: Hubert “Sporty” Price, Barbara Ford, Edna English and Cheney Aycock.
