Rome police responded to the call just after 4 p.m. Friday on Maple Avenue after a woman reported she’d been robbed.
According to the woman’s account, she’d gone inside a convenience store to cash a $311 check, and when she was headed out the door a black male suspect grabbed the cash from her pocket after the woman refused to give him $2.
Though police were given a description of the suspect, they were unable to locate him at the time of the report.
