A Rome man was in jail Friday night after he allegedly harmed an elderly female in an attempt to keep her from leaving, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the report:

David Jason Heath, 38, of 466 Eden Valley Road, grabbed the 89-year-old victim by the arm and would not let her leave the residence Friday afternoon.

When officers arrived and took him into custody Heath attempted to pull away from them and refused to be restrained.

Heath was charged with felony false imprisonment along with misdemeanor counts of battery under the Family Violence Act, obstruction of law enforcement officers and elderly abuse.
