ATLANTA (AP) — A 77-year-old charter bus driver is facing charges in the bicycling death of a north Georgia pastor.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Monday that George Carroll was charged with vehicular homicide and following too closely in the death of Andrew Pray.

Pray was biking along U.S. 41 in Bartow County Wednesday afternoon when the county-owned bus hit him. Police say the incident did not appear to be intentional.

The pastor was hospitalized in critical condition and later died at WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

Carroll was taken to the county jail and was released on bond. It was not known whether he had a lawyer.

A memorial celebration for Pray will be held Tuesday at the East Paulding Campus of West Ridge Church at 1 p.m.
