11 Rome High singers make top chorus in state

In addition to the 37 students selected from Rome High School for All-state Chorus, the school recently learned that 11 students were selected for the 2012-2013 All-state Reading Chorus.

“This is a separate audition process and selection is based solely on the students’ vocal sight-reading abilities,” explained teacher Jennifer Williams. “Only 100 students in the state of Georgia are selected for this particular choir.”

Two of the Rome High students selected for the All-state Reading Chorus achieved the best score in the district during the audition. Matthew Nedvin was the top scoring tenor and Avery Harris was the top scoring bass in the district the school competes in.
