Two Marietta women are in jail after allegedly passing false traveler’s checks at the Kmart in East Rome, according to jail reports.

According to the reports:

Nekisha Lashune Lawrence, 34, of 842 Franklin Road, Marietta, and Julene Mwaura Saez, 42, of 861 Franklin Road, Marietta, were each charged with three counts of felony first-degree forgery.

They allegedly went to the business at 102 Hicks Drive and cashed three traveler’s checks totaling $700. The documents were discovered to be fraudulent with the words “gift certificate” erased from the checks. Both women remained in jail Thursday night without bond.
