Evan Atkinson of Thorton Concrete Studio cuts the outline of North America and Europe in the concrete in front of City Hall. The map will include the path of the first trans-Atlantic flight mission that Rome native Admiral John H. Towers led from New York to Lisbon, Portugal, in 1919. The Admiral John H. Towers Plaza maps will eventually be colored in, and the plaza will include a statue and sitting areas.

So we see that Thornton Concrete gets the bid for the Towers Plaza project. Can anyone guess who Mr. Thornton is married to and just where his wife might work? I'm sure the bid process was all above board.
