But that’s exactly what happened after the 26-year-old scratched off a lottery ticket from the instant game Super Millions and saw a bold $2 million before his eyes.
“I was really excited, and I was shaking a lot at first,” Redden recalled upon discovering the prize.
Redden, who packages Rice Krispies treats at a local Kellogg’s plant, had his tooth pulled Thursday, Aug. 9, just before winning his prize, according to a news release issued from the Georgia Lottery.
Georgia Lottery representatives presented him with an oversized check Friday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.
Maple Minit Shop, 3110 Maple Road in Lindale, sold the lucky ticket.
The winner said he wants to pay it forward. “People have done things for me, and I said that if I ever won that I want to give back to them,” he explained. “I can’t wait to do it.”
But Redden anticipates using the rest of his winnings for his future.
“I just want to get a house on the lake because I like to fish,” he said.
