Final: Grasshoppers 4, Braves 1 (State Mutual Stadium)

The turning point: The Grasshoppers broke a scoreless game by scoring two runs in the top of the sixth. Greensboro then added two insurance runs in the eighth.

Who did what for Rome: Tony Mueller went 2-for-4, Kyle Kubitza drove in the Braves only run, and Ross Heffley went 2-for-2 with a double.

On the mound: Greg Ross pitched into the eighth inning and gave up all four runs.

Game notes: The loss ended the Braves home winning streak of seven straight victories at SMS. Rome (29-16) have a three and a half game lead over Lexington in the Southern Division standings.

Next Game: The Braves host Greensboro today for game two or their four-game series with the Grasshoppers. First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
