Man charged with trespass, cruelty

A Rome man was arrested and charged Thursday with criminal trespass and cruelty to children, both under the Family Violence Act, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the jail report:

Joseph Robert Mills, 46, of 11 Highbluff Road, was charged after he allegedly “destroyed the house and punched a hole in the wall” during an argument with a relative, and also called another relative obscene, derogatory names, while in the presence of a child.
