2 Silver Creek residents charged after altercation

A Silver Creek man and woman were both arrested and charged following an altercation at their residence Monday evening, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Conney Ray Batson IV, 30, of 729 Compton Road, and Kira Gleneice Batson, 27, of the same address, were allegedly involved in an argument during which Conney Batson tried to gain entry into a locked room and threatened the safety of those inside, and Kira Batson slapped the phone out of someone’s hand while they were making an emergency call to 911.

Conney Batson was charged with a felony count of terroristic threats and acts and Kira Batson was charged with misdemeanors simple battery under the Family Violence Act and obstructing an emergency phone call under the Family Violence Act.

Both Batsons remained in jail Monday night without bonds.
