A third arrest has been made in connection with a July 3 armed robbery where shots were allegedly fired at the victim who said he was robbed in his residence, according to Floyd County Jail reports and Rome police.

Floydell Quinchard Smith, 21, of 207 E. 17th St., was charged by Rome police on Monday with armed robbery, possession of a firearm or knife while trying to commit crimes, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and theft by taking.

According to the fact sheet at the Floyd County Jail, Smith and four others went to a Flannery Street home around 5 p.m. on July 3.

Two of the suspects went to the back door, and three went to the front door. Four had guns and the fifth one had a machete.

The suspects went into the home and ordered the victim to get down on the ground.

The victim was able to run out the door, but as he was running away, shots were fired at him. The victim was not hit.

After the victim left, the suspects ransacked his home, taking a laptop computer.

Police have also charged Tiaunt Quandarivas Orr, 17, of 131 Dodd Blvd., Apt. H-6, with felony robbery in connection with the case.

A juvenile is also in custody while two suspects have not been arrested, said Detective Michelle Sims.
