Man charged with possession of meth

A Rome man remained in jail Monday night after police allegedly found a bag of methamphetamine in his front pants pocket, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Nelvin Douglas Johnson, 34, of 503 Woods Road, was charged with a felony count of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers.

Reports stated that as officers were searching Johnson, he pushed one away when he got close to the pocket that contained the drugs.

He remained in jail Monday night with a $1,350 bond for his misdemeanor charge.
