Seaman Matthew Anthony Hicks completed eight weeks of U.S. Navy bootcamp in Great Lakes, Ill. Hicks earned a sharpshooting ribbon while in bootcamp. He will continue training for eight weeks at Great Lakes to be a Gunner’s Mate. Hicks attended Model High School until 2008 and graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 2009. He is the son of Steve and Tara Allen.
