Warrants have been issued for a woman who allegedly drove an all terrain vehicle in a fatal wreck last spring that killed a local 10-year-old, according to Georgia State Patrol officials.

According to officials, Kasey Green, 22, of a Jackson Chapel Road address in Cave Spring, was driving the ATV on April 1 with Keanua Mackenzie Chambers of Rome as her passenger. Green left the road in the Jackson Chapel Road area, hit a fence, struck a tree and flipped several times.

GSP had several charges listed for Green after the incident, but she was never arrested, reports stated.

GSP officials said in April that Green would be charged with second-degree vehicular homicide, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, no proof of insurance, failure to maintain lane and registration and license requirements.

Polk County Deputy Coroner Tony Brazier said in April that Chambers was sitting in front of Green at the time of the wreck, and neither were wearing helmets.

After the wreck, Chambers and Green, who was also injured, were rushed to Floyd Medical Center where Chambers was pronounced dead at 3:01 p.m.

I try to look at things like this from every angle. Sad all the way around. I would think this 22 year old would have never hurt that child. The charges are the least of their worries as they try to come to grips with the death they have to face. It happens all the time and drugs or even alcohol is only involved in a small number of the deaths. 3 wheelers were outlawed as unsafe, but 4 wheelers have kill many more than they ever did. Not to back any drug but alcohol has killed more people than all other drugs combined. I'm not saying any of this should be over looked. But I feel the only person who can see anything good out of this is the one who put money in their pocket from the sale of death. But who has the right to control our freedom. I don't care about revenge against someone who is already hurting more than anything we could do to them. Freedom or safety and who makes that choice?

I can honestly say that this 22 would have never hurt Keauna! She treated her and loved her like her little sister.

I will say this also about the 3 wheeler/4 wheeler debate...I have a 3 wheeler (doesn't run at the moment) and I have had a 4 wheeler. On my 3 wheeler, which I have had for over 25 years, I was never injured, but on a 4 wheeler, I flipped and was lucky that I didn't break my back. I tore all kinds of stuff in my legs. I will always say that a 3 wheeler is much more safer than a 4 wheeler.

Just a few days ago, I witnessed a shirtless, helmetless, shoeless young man riding a 4 wheel ATV through the neighborhood with an equally shirtless, helmetless, shoeless baby, THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID BABY, riding on the gas tank. I thought about calling the cops. The fact is, that unless the cops are just down the street, they won't get here in time to do anything. My best guess is that drugs and/or alcohol were in the system of the operator. Maybe he'll have second thoughts when he finally sobers-up. Unfortunatly, that won't happen for another 35 years!

Sadly similar stories play our every day across the state. I live on a heaviliy traveled county road and just last night 3 teenage boys, not wearing helmets, were illegally riding 4-wheelers wide open at a high rate of speed right up the center line of the road. It's time for law enforcement to start cracking down on this. If you ride your 4-wheeler on the road it is confiscated and you don't get it back.

or maybe we need to be like Alabama and Mississippi and as long as you have insurance and a tag YOU CAN ride on the road!!!!
