Mrs. Whitney Lauren Broome
The bride is the daughter of Ken Wright of Rome and Missy Wright of Aragon. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Broome of Lindale.
Dr. Philip May of Silver Creek performed the double-ring ceremony under a wrought-iron arbor draped with white ulle and greenery. The ceremony was held lakeside surrounded by formal gardens.
The musical program was provided by Shalena Wright who sang “How Beautiful” and Garrett Henderson who sang “Me and You”. The bridesmaids and bride entered to “Canon in D” and the recessional was “Marry Me.”
The maid of honor was Jessica Donehoo of Carrolton. The bridesmaids were Jennifer Bruce of Auburn, Ala., Melody Broome of Lindale, and Kalie Reagan of Loganville. The junior bridesmaid was Avery Simms of Silver Creek. They wore black and white strapless dresses and carried bouquets of white ivory roses, orange gerberas, and white snap dragons.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, chose a white ball gown of luxe taffeta with a sweetheart neckline and full pleated skirt with pockets. The fitted waistline featured a silver beaded sash that tied in a bow in the back below the covered buttons flowing down to the chapel length train.
She carried a bouquet of orange gerberas, ivory roses, white lisianthus, and eucalyptus berries.
The best man was Steve Broome, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Matt Broome of Lindale, Josh Glover of Cave Spring, Bart Butler of Auburn, Ala., and Clint Harrison of McDonough. Joel Simms of Silver Creek was the ring bearer.
Programs were given out by Jaylyn Barnes and bubbles were given out by Avery Simms and Jaylyn Barnes. Laverne and Stevanie Pruitt and Michelle Hyder provided water and lemonade to guests before the ceremony. The bride’s cake was served by Abbi Davis and the groom’s cake was served by Elizabeth Davis.
Kim Donehoo directed the ceremony.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by the parents of the bride at Belle Terra. The refreshments included the bride’s four tier cake topped with silver initals.
The evening before the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Rome Area History Museum.
Prenuptial parties included: a shower given by Trinie Davis, Delores Mobbs, and Kristen Ekey at the Davis home; a shower given by Laverne Pruitt, Stevanie Pruitt, Michelle Hyder, Lynn Holloway, Nancy Henderson, Pam Hyman, and
Melody Broome at the Pruitt home; a shower given by Lisa Ayer, Diane Jones, Sandra and Lauren Taylor, Pam Ware, and Meagan Everett at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church; a shower given by the brides place of work, Floyd County Finance Department; a shower given by the groom’s family; a lingerie shower given by Jessica Donehoo and Jennifer Bruce on a weekend trip to Helen; and a bridesmaids’ lunch at La Marie’s given by Vicki Free, Kristen Ekey, and Delores Mobbs the afternoon of the wedding.
After a honeymoon trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Rome.
