Bob and Loraine Tucker recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The two were married June 30, 1962 at North Broad Baptist Church in Rome with the Rev. Robert Samuel Tucker Sr. officiating.

Mrs. Tucker is the former Loraine Freeman. She graduated from Rome High School in 1958 and from Shorter College with a degree in elementary education. She taught in both the Rome City and Floyd County School Systems. Her parents, Clinton and Mildred Clowdis Freeman were from Rome.

Mr. Tucker graduated from Darlington School in 1956 and attended Auburn University. He graduated from Shorter College with a degree in business administration. He is a real estate broker and the owner of Bob Tucker & Associates, Auctioneers of Rome. His parents, Robert and Ada Keeton Tucker were originally from Chattanooga, Tenn.

They have four children, Anna Ruth Flagg of Atlanta, Kara Williams of Rome, Rachel Edwards of Cartersville and Robert Tucker III of Rome. They have nine grandchildren.

They say the secret to a successful marriage is never forgetting to love each other.
