Elizabeth Danielle Morgan and Samuel Carl Hammond were married at 1 p.m. on June 2, 2012, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Rome. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morgan of Cedar Bluff, Ala. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Hammond and Mr. and Mrs. David Hodges, all of Rome.

Reverend Jack Karch of Rome performed the double-ring ceremony. A program of wedding music was provided by organist Justin Karch of Rome. Selections included Rhosymedre, “Canon in D,” “Bridal Chorus,” and “Festive Trumpet Tune.” Soloist Jenna Crouch performed “Only Hope.”

Angel Simms of Cave Spring was the matron of honor. Joanna Jinright of Dalton, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenna Gable, Rebecca Brock, Sarah Lane, Scarlett Sumner, all of Rome and Victoria Padgett of South Side, Ala. Lainey Simms of Cave Spring and Sydney Wolfe of Ohatchee, Ala., were the junior bridesmaids. They wore sleeveless, short dresses of mercury matte satin. They carried bouquets of yellow roses, carnations, crespedia, and daisies.

Claire Tucker and Layla Morgan, both of Cartersville were the flower girls. They wore sleeveless dresses of ivory taffeta with a matching floral rosette at the waist. They carried baskets filled with yellow rose petals.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore an ivory, strapless, A-line taffeta gown with buttons down the back to the end of the chapel-length

train. The dress had a sweetheart, inverted pleat neckline and a delicate flower on the waist and silver beaded embroidery around the bodice. Her fingertip length veil was trimmed in matching satin. She carried a bouquet of white garden roses, yellow roses, white daisies, crespedia, and lambs ear, tied in flowing pale yellow ribbons.

Jimmy Hammond, father of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Corey Patterson, Devin Hamby, Michael Hewitt, all of Rome, Andrew Lane of Jacksonville, Ala., Trung Ly of Kennesaw, and Jesse Cagle of Acworth. Junior groomsmen were William Hodges of Rome and Evan Simms of Cave Spring.

The mother of the bride wore a short sleeveless dress of yellow floral chiffon. The mother of the groom wore a pale blue satin gown with a short, ruffled skirt and matching jacket. The step-mother of the groom wore short flutter-sleeve patterned dress with scoop neckline. The mothers were presented with corsages of white daisies.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Forrest Place. Refreshments included the bride’s three-tier square cake covered in buttercream icing with flowers in shades of

yellow and silver adorning the sides. Two wooden lovebirds were placed on top of the cake.

The evening before the wedding, Selena and David Hodges hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Grizzard Center at the Chieftains Museum. Other pre-nuptial parties included a miscellaneous shower given by the members of Lakeview Church; a shower given by the members of Holy Trinity Church; a bridal shower given by Julie and Jenna Gable; a shower for co-workers at West Central Elementary; a bridal shower given by Angel Simms; a Tupperware shower given by Selena Hodges; a gift card party given by Carol and Jean Edwards; and the Bachelorette weekend and lingerie shower was held in Hilton Head, South Carolina given by Joanna Jinright and Victoria Padgett. Dr. Sue Butler-Sumner and her daughter, Scarlett Sumner hosted a luncheon for the bridesmaids at their home in Rome.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Western Caribbean, the couple will reside in Cartersville.
