Mr. and Mrs. Tim Boatfield of Lindale announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Boatfield, to Jacob Alan Kirkpatrick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Kirkpatrick of Rome.

Miss Boatfield is a 2009 graduate of Pepperell High School. She is currently a senior at Shorter University and plans to graduate from the mursing program in 2013. She is currently employed at Rome Athletic Club and Redmond Regional Medical Center.

The bride-elect is the sister of Lindsey Boatfield and Mallory Boatfield, both of Lindale. She is the granddaughter of Carl Stewart of Rome and the late Linda Stewart. She is also the granddaughter of the late John Boatfield and Bobbie Wyatt.

Kirkpatrick is a 2008 graduate of Model High School. He graduated summa cum laude from Shorter University in 2012 and plans to attend medical school in fall 2013. He is currently employed at Shorter University.

The groom-elect is the brother of Luke Kirkpatrick of Rome. He is the grandson of the late George Hannan of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla., and Kay Hannan. He is also the grandson of the late James Kirkpatrick of Martins Ferry, Ohio and the late June Kirkpatrick.

The wedding will be held at Barnwell Chapel on the Berry College Campus on August 11, 2012 at 6 p.m. A reception will follow at The Forum in Rome.
