Mary Ann Jenkins and William Ray Carver were married at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Sherwood Forest Baptist Church in Rome.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Jenkins of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Braden, Shirley Jenkins all of Rome, and the late Ralph Jenkins. The groom is the son of Ray Carver and Judy Terry. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carver Sr.

Reverend Randy Lambert and Dr. Ralph Jenkins, father of the bride, performed the double-ring ceremony before an altar enhanced with two large arrangements of mixed white flowers with greenery in urns, ferns, candlelabras and tulle. Pews were marked with white gerbera daisies, greenery, satin ribbon and tulle.

Music was provided by Stacey Perry of Cedartown. Selections included “Cannon in D” and “Bridal Chorus.” Soloist Jorie Cribb of Athens, Tenn., sang “When I Say I Do” and “Love Never Fails.” Randy and Beth Anne Singleton of Athens, Tenn., sang “When God Made You.”

The guest book was attended by Beth Bradley of Athens, Programs were distributed by Elizabeth and Sarah Faith Mulkey of Rome.

The maid of honor was Jenna Bishop of Rome. The matron of honor was Andrea Pilcher of Lindale. The bridesmaids were Katherine Parker of Armuchee, Lauren Dowdy of Rome, Addie Ann Dowdy of Athens, Tenn., Amanda Fox of Rome and Tiffany Lambert of Rome. They wore identical strapless floor length gowns of pool crinkle chiffon and charmeuse fabric. The strapless bodice featured a cascading satin front ruffle. Matching earrings and necklace of crystals and pearls, which were a gift from the bride, complemented their ensembles. They carried hand bouquets of pastel gerbera daisies wrapped with a white satin sleeve adorned with pearls.

The flower girls were Arianna and Alivia Akins, cousins of the bride. They wore white sleeveless dresses of satin and organza. They carried white satin baskets filled with rose petals and wore matching pearl necklaces, earrings and bracelets that were a gift from the bride.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a strapless princess A-line gown of white satin and organza with a chapel train. The bodice had beaded detailing along with delicate beaded lace appliques adorning the bodice and skirt. The bride wore a fingertip length veil featuring two tiers with beaded metallic edging belonging to one of her bridesmaids, Katherine Parker. She wore a pair of earrings and a necklace of crystals and pearls. The bride carried a lace handkerchief belonging to a special aunt, Mary Roberson. The bride carried a hand bouquet of white hydrangea, calla lilies, peonies, roses and magnolia blossom wrapped with a white satin sleeve adorned with pearls.

Ray Carver, father of the groom and Cody Mangum were the best men. Groomsmen were Jason White of Rome, Jake Yarbrough of Armuchee, Derick Smith of Lindale and Dustin Watson of Rome. Shep Jenkins, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.

The mother of the bride wore a tiered knee length dress of platinum with matching jacket. The dress featured an empire waist embellished with jewel and sequin detail. The mother of the groom wore a tea length sleeveless chiffon dress of laguna blue with satin accents on the shoulders and waist to accent the full skirt. The mothers and grandmothers wore corsages of cymidium orchids.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Palladium. The bride’s cake was a four-tiered, square, with buttercream frosting. Each tier was accented with satin ribbon of pool featuring a dot pattern along the layers with the couple’s monogram on the top layer. The groom’s cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream icing accented with a University of Georgia theme featuring a replica of a Georgia bulldog. Bird seed bags were distributed by Camden, Kimberleigh and Aspen Roberson, all of Kennesaw.

On the evening before the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held in the fellowship hall of the church.

Other pre-nuptial parties included a miscellaneous shower given by ladies at Eastanallee Baptist Church of Athens, Tenn.; a bridal shower hosted by the groom’s mother at the Rome-Floyd County Library; a bridal shower given by Jenna Bishop, Andrea Pilcher and Lauren Dowdy; a miscellaneous shower given by ladies at Sherwood Forest Baptist Church; a

family shower given by Shirley Jenkins, Cindy Rampley, Linda Jenkins, Miranda Peoples and Megan Akins at the Etowah Center; a bridal brunch at the Claremont House hosted by Jill Jones, Beth Roberson and Genia Roberson and a miscellaneous shower given by ladies at Grace Baptist Church.

A bridal brunch was held at LaMarie’s and hosted by the bridesmaids in honor of the bride’s attendants on the day before the wedding.

After a wedding trip to Panama City Beach, Fla., the couple will reside in Rome.
