The Last Stop Gift Shop will host a public book signing today to feature local authors Robert and Gail Deschamps as they sign copies of their novel “Buried Demons.”

The event gives locals a chance to meet the authors, ask questions, and learn about the inspirations for the book.

A psychic mystery thriller, “Buried Demons” follows the life of Cassandra Gautier. After being granted the power to foresee the future, Cassandra finds herself forced into situations she wants to avoid but can’t seem to escape. Soon, it becomes apparent that she is in danger … and and so are the people she loves.

The Deschamps live in Rome and collaborate together to write. They received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Rome Area Council for the Arts. Gail has a degree in theater with an English minor from the University of Miami. She is a former artistic director for a national touring company and has written several plays. Robert was educated in France and Canada. He published for Maison’s Deschamps, but retired in 1990 to write full-time.

The book signing will take place from 4-7 p.m. at The Last Stop Gift Shop on Jackson Hill. The event is free and sponsored by the Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau

Copies of “Buried Demons will” be available for purchase. Refreshments will be provided.
