The event, called “A Nod to Yesterday,” will be an eclectic mix of everything Imagine offers. From a variety of artists to models showcasing hair, makeup and clothing from the 1920s to today.
Shea Dale, general manager at Imagine, said since all the stylists have different influences, they decided that each would take a client and dress that client in period clothing as well as hair and makeup to match. Those clients will be models during the party, mingling with guests.
“What we’re seeing in the hair industry is a lot of the old school stuff coming back,” Dale said. “We all have passions in different decades. We’ve all chosen a client to outfit with costume, hair and makeup. I think it’s a great way for people to see how styles and trends from decades ago can influence modern styles.”
All Imagine’s artists have been invited to attend. Also in attendance will be local artist Eric Dempsey who is currently exhibiting at the gallery.
“Kylie Devaron will be the DJ for the party and we’ll have refreshments for guests,” Dale said. “We’ll also have a couple paparazzi photographers, a velvet rope and a ticket taker to give the party an “old Hollywood glam” feel.
The event will include a photo area. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costumes from their favorite decade. Gift certificates from downtown businesses will be given to the best dressed guests.
The party takes place on Friday from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at Imagine which is located at 334 Broad Street. The public is invited to attend. Admission is free.
