Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a three-vehicle wreck that occurred just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Martha Berry Highway and Redmond Circle on Friday.

Rome police and Rome-Floyd Fire Department officials responded to the wreck.

According to Rome police officer Pete Flemming:

Emily Holcombe, 19, of Rome, was driving her black Honda Accord south on Martha Berry Highway. As she was going through the intersection David Couey, 21, of Rome was turning left in his yellow Nissan Xterra from Redmond Circle on to Martha Berry Highway. The two collided head-on and the wreck caused Couey to hit Misty Hamilton, 46, of Summerville, in her grey Toyota Camry.

Hamilton was not injured and was able to drive away from the wreck.

Both Couey and Holcombe were taken to Redmond Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

A Redmond spokeswoman said both Couey and Holcombe were treated and released from the Emergency Room on Friday evening.

Holcombe was cited with running a red light.
