Georgia State Senator Barry Loudermilk announced his endorsement of Chuck Hufstetler for State Senate, District 52. Loudermilk currently represents the 52nd District, but was drawn into the newly created 14th District due to reapportionment legislation.

"For the past eight years I have had the honor of representing the people of Floyd County in both the State House and State Senate; however, due to redistricting I will no longer have Floyd County in my district. For the past decade the citizens of the 52nd District have consistently elected strong conservatives to represent them in the State Senate. To ensure the people continue having conservative representation, I am supporting Chuck Hufstetler in the race for the State Senate. Chuck is a life-long Republican with proven conservative credentials. As a Floyd County Commissioner, Chuck cut taxes, eliminated debt, and established a policy of fiscal responsibility. This is the type of leadership we need in the state government. Chuck has been dedicated to the conservative cause for many years by working in campaigns to elect real conservatives to public office. I am proud to lend my support to Chuck, and I encourage all those who support our Northwest Georgia conservative values of faith, family, and freedom, to rally behind Chuck Hufstetler,” stated Loudermilk.

“I am honored to have Senator Barry Loudermilk’s support and endorsement. His leadership of standing up for true conservatism has been recognized around the state and nation. Barry is a leader who has represented this area well in the Senate. I look forward to joining him in the General Assembly to stand firm for faith, family, and freedom,” stated Hufstetler.

Senator Loudermilk was elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2010 to replace Preston Smith, who has also endorsed Hufstetler. Before being elected to the Senate, Loudermilk was elected to the Georgia State House in 2004, and re-elected in 2006 and 2008. During the 2011 Special Session on Reapportionment, Loudermilk was drawn into the newly created 14th District, which left the 52nd District with no incumbent senator.
