Police: Couple stole from elderly woman

A Rome couple is facing several charges after their Thursday night arrest for allegedly stealing from an elderly woman, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Randy Darrell Highfield, 32, of 3828 Morton Bend Road, broke into the 78-year-old woman’s home and took jewelry, which as later pawned. The jewelry was valued at about $4,500.

Highfield was charged with two counts of theft by receiving stolen property, burglary, theft by deception and a probation hold.

His wife, Dana Michelle Highfield, 34, of the same address, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by deception.
