ATLANTA (AP) — MARTA officials say a man has been killed after being struck by a train at Lindbergh Center, causing rail service to be suspended and the station later to be closed.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that spokesman Lyle Harris said the unidentified patron was struck by a northbound train at 7:52 p.m. and the transit agency's police are investigating why the person was on the track.

Officials say the station was closed at 9:45 p.m. Harris says rail customers were provided bus service around the closed station.

MARTA officials did not immediately return phone messages for comment left by The Associated Press on Monday night.

This happened at the same station about a year ago, I believe it was a suicide.
